About — Timespective

Timespective is an independent app built by one person — Akshay K. Burusa, a developer from India living in the Netherlands. There are no investors and no growth team, which is why the app keeps your data on your device, uses no account, and earns its keep from a simple subscription rather than from selling attention or data.

Why I built it

I'm Akshay. I kept losing whole weeks to work and then wondering where the rest of my life had gone — the gym, friends, the guitar I keep meaning to pick up. Time-tracking apps wanted me to run a stopwatch all day; habit apps turned everything into a streak to protect. I wanted something quieter: a way to say, once a day, “did I show up for the things that matter?” and to see the answer as one honest picture over the week. That picture became Timespective's polar chart.

How it's built

Timespective is designed mobile-first for Android and iOS. Your pillars and logs live in a local database on your device; there is no server holding a copy, and nothing is transmitted today. Crash diagnostics are off by default and strictly opt-in. You can read exactly what is and isn't stored on the privacy page.

How it's funded

A single subscription, with a 14-day free trial — see pricing. That's the whole business model. No ads, no data sales, no “free” tier paid for with your attention. If the app is worth a couple of euros a month to you, that's what keeps it maintained and independent.
